A Letter to My Faithful Listeners
To all my loyal listeners and supporters of The Papa Ron Podcast,
It's hard to believe it's been nearly a year since my last episode, and if you've been wondering why, I owe you a heartfelt explanation. First and foremost, let me express my gratitude to each of you for being part of this journey. You've been incredible – not only listening to the stories and conversations but sharing your testimonies of how the podcast has impacted your lives. Knowing that The Papa Ron Podcast has reached and touched hearts is truly humbling.
When I started this podcast three years ago, I poured everything into it—late nights, endless hours of editing, learning, and striving for excellence. The momentum was building, and it felt like we were on the cusp of something great. However, just as the podcast was about to truly take off, I found myself standing at a crossroads in my life. It became clear that the amount of time and energy I was investing in building the podcast was taking a significant toll on my personal life—particularly my faith and family.
While it's natural for things to sacrifice when you're building something worthwhile, this was pulling on my heart in ways I couldn't ignore. I began to feel God nudging me to reprioritize my life. Everything in my personal life was beginning to struggle, and it was a familiar path—one that had previously led me to anxiety, depression, and even darker places. I realized I couldn't make the same mistake twice. I needed to press pause.
The podcast had always been intended as a platform to use my skills to serve others, to bring forth powerful testimonies that could inspire, encourage, and point people toward God. In Revelation 12:11, it says, "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." This was the heart of the podcast—using testimonies to serve others. And while the show was growing in listenership and reaching more people than I ever imagined, I was at odds with the most important things in my life—my relationship with God and my family.
To be honest, there were times I found myself going into interviews clouded by personal struggles, unable to be fully present with a clear mind and full heart for those meaningful conversations. It became evident that I needed to step back, to focus on my faith, family, and overcoming my own battles. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." I knew that I needed to surrender to God, take time for rest, and focus on what truly mattered.
While I'm grateful to report that I'm doing much better and happy with the progress I've made over the last year, I'm not quite ready to bring back the podcast just yet. I've found a new passion in helping other aspiring podcasters and have been using my talents to help them elevate their platforms through my Papa Ron Radio Podcast Consulting & Editing services. This new chapter has given me a sense of purpose and reignited my entrepreneurial spirit.
That said, I do hope to bring back The Papa Ron Podcast one day. When I do, it will likely look a little different. I'm considering hosting solo moving forward—though I have nothing but gratitude for my former co-host Jillian Gregg. Jillian was instrumental in helping elevate the podcast with her talents and connections to amazing guests like Louie Aguiar, Trent Green, and others. She wasn't just a co-host—she's a dear friend and a follower of Christ who provided me with personal perspective when I needed it most. Jillian has shared her aspirations of starting her own podcast, and I'd be honored to help her when she's ready to pursue that dream. This potential shift is more about my desire to be self-reliant and have the flexibility to record when my guest and I are available.
Another thing that may change is incorporating more virtual interviews, something I've wrestled with for a long time. I've always felt in-person interviews provide more synergy and a deeper connection, but I'm realizing that virtual interviews can be just as impactful and practical in many cases. I also have a vision of expanding The Papa Ron Podcast into multiple content channels—exploring topics like sports, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and more.
As you can see, I've put a lot of thought into the evolution of Papa Ron content. But for now, my focus remains on God, my family, and helping others build their podcasts. I'm deeply grateful to all of you who continue to reach out, asking when the next episode is coming. And as I always say, "we're one day closer."
I sincerely apologize for the abrupt halt in content and appreciate your grace and understanding as I've taken the time to heal and reconnect with the most important areas of my life. For now, I encourage you to stay connected with the podcast on Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts. When the time is right, there will be a relaunch with a renewed vision and energy. Until then, I trust in God's timing and blessings for the future.
Thank you for your unwavering support, and may God bless you all.
Proverbs 3:5-6 – "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Warmly, Ronnie Philips — Papa Ron Podcast
